Blog post #4: Change of Plans

In the past few days I've learned that Life Straws are getting more and more publicity. I've seen that they made an effort to advertise this product and encourage others to donate towards giving people access to clean water. I actually realized that I like planning and fundraising and all the aspects of this project. Also, I think the best decision for this project to to change the aim a little. Instead of trying to do multiple fundraisers, I want to put all of my effort into making this Chick Fil A event successful because after I spoke to the marketing team I see that it's possible to bring in a lot of money just from one Spirit Night event. So I guess my partner, Wendy and I are still planning and coming up with new ideas to advertise this event and if it'll be enough. My biggest concern is that we won't be able to get over 150 people to come, which is about the amount of people we need to raise a significant amount of money. I also didn't realize that the event had to be planned and scheduled around a month before so we have plenty of time to make adjustments. It is a small project. However, I think it'll make an impact not only for a community in need, but also our community. It'll bring together lots of people in support of a much needed donation. When it's time for the event I'll make sure to let everyone know so you guys can come to support as well!

  1. After reading your other blog posts I was concerned on whether you could organize multiple events to raise $500 in a month. I'm glad you changed gears and decided to put your all into one big event, but if you are investing your time into one event and it fails, how are you going to come up with the remaining funds to reach your goal? How are you going to advertise this event and draw in the big crowd? Chick Fil A sounds good right now though.

  2. You are taking so much control over this project and i think it is great! It is obvious youre working hard. The event sounds great and having it in one event is also a good idea. If you are not able to come up with enough funds there are a few ways to do it. I found that simply going door to door makes a difference. When i fundraised for guard championships we would make about $100 a night! When is your event? Have fun!
