First, I want to say that I don't at all regret choosing this as my project and I'm actually glad that I did. I had to opportunity to tell so many people about the cause and raise greater awareness about the lack of clean water available for millions of people all throughout our global community.
My goal for this project was to raise money through the Chick Fil A fundraiser, but ASB couldn't approve it because we weren't a club that was with the school. We couldn't advertise the event on WRTV so it wouldn't have been successful. It was pretty devastating knowing we wouldn't be able to raise money like we had intended, but we still have the opportunity to share Life Straws with so many people and let them know they can contribute to the cause. We purchased a Life Straw for our presentation and I think it'll show everyone just how simple, yet effective this device is.
The main point of this project is to show the community that we are lucky to have a source of clean water when there are so many other communities who struggle constantly because of this. We are fortunate to attend school and receive great education without having to deal with water-borne illnesses. Water is the most basic of necessities and it should be available to every man, woman, and child throughout the world.
