Blog Post #5: Purchasing a Lifestraw

Our project is finally picking up some speed! Wendy and I aren't sure if the Chick Fil A fundraiser would be approved through asb.  We think we should get some of world's finest chocolates to and sell it maybe at the next swim meet that I go to. I'm really excited about this project and continue to learn more about it everyday. I learned that diseases from water that isn't filtered cause so many unnecessary deaths all over the world. Something with such a simple solution is taking lives and causing disease.
Anyways we aren't too worried about the Chick Fil A fundraiser because we are still in contact with their marketing team and they've even suggested some new ideas for us. What we will do is purchase a Lifestraw for our presentation to demonstrate how it works! It's pretty inexpensive so it shouldn't be a problem for us to get. There we'll also ask the audience about where they can donate. There's a lot more money for us to raise, but I'm glad we've made some progress.

  1. Isn't it amazing what a couple e-mails or phone calls can do to get you into contact with big companies, like Chick Fil A? I think it's great that you're already planning a way to enage your audience and keep raising funds during your presentation at the end of 20% time. Maybe you could talk to the Westfield mall about setting up a booth there for a weekend to sell the chocolate bars and talk to people about your project. How do you plan on getting the audience to donate besides your demonstration (powerful images, video, etc.)? - Savannah
